Math Olympiad

Math Olympiad is an ASAP (after school activities program) for students in grade 4-5. The group will meet Wednesdays for one hour per week. Students are also invited to participate in 5 monthly individual contests, starting in November, to challenge their mathematical problem-solving.

Goals for the program include:

  • To stimulate enthusiasm and a love for Mathematics

  • To introduce important Mathematical concepts

  • To teach major strategies for problem solving

  • To develop Mathematical flexibility in solving problems

  • To strengthen Mathematical intuition

  • To foster Mathematical creativity and ingenuity

  • To provide for the satisfaction, joy, and thrill of meeting challenges

To learn more about the program visit the MOEMS website. Maximum enrollment for the program is 25 students. The cost per student for the school year is $350. Five parent-proctered contests will be hosted at Seldens. In the case of inclement weather an alternative date will be selected.
